Remains of flue. c1820. Rubble. Barrel-vaulted, parabolic in section. The
flue emerged from the north side of Grinton Smelting Mill, ran at the back of
the peat store, and up the hillside eastwards for a distance of 300 metres,
climbing 350 metres, to a square chimney at the summit which has fallen completely.
The flue has callapsed in places. Scheduled as an Ancient Monument. Included
partly for group considerations.
