Stables, Cogden Hall
GV II

Coach house and stable block, now farm buildings. Mid C19. Rubble,
stone slate roof. 3-storey central coach house, flanked by 2-storey
stables. Crude quoins. Openings with plain stone surrounds. Coach
house had 2 round-arched coach openings (one now blocked) with, above,
central pitching door flanked by small, square 6-pane windows under
round-arched heads. Above, semi-circular dovecote. Symmetrical stable
ranges either side with 2 doorways and 3 windows on ground floor,
2 windows and 1 pitching door on first floor. The right-hand stable
range is obscured by modern agricultural buildings. Included partly for
group considerations.
