Circa 1860-70. Victorian house in rock faced stone with freestone dressings.
Steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with wide eaves and arched brace timber-frame
gables on brackets supported on corbel heads.
Two storeys and attic. Asymmetrical north-west front with right hand slightly
advanced gable, the ground floor has squarebay with cusped arch lights and
wide eaves on brackets, above is a window with 3 shouldered arch lights.
Central semi-dormer with gable on brackets.
Left hand, 2 storeyed gabled porch with diagonal angle buttresses with set-offs,
and moulded arch doorway with Burghley arms above, and first floor Gothic
traceried 2-light window.
The south-west garden front has advanced right hand twin gables with oriel
and ground floor canted bay with square first floor bay rising from hipped
roof. large stone chimney stacks with slits between the square shafts.
Interior: Hall fireplace with corbelled stone hood; moulded ceiling beams
with arched braces on corbels and chamfered joists. Open-well staircase has
Gothic traceried balusters.
