House. C15 and C16, altered in C18 and C19. Timber framed, plastered with some
painted brick, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. Wing projects at rear,
formerly jettied, with pre-1550 ranges to E and W. Lean-to extensions to S and
E. 2 storeys and cellars, and one storey. N front has 4-window range of C20
casements, and simple pedimented canopy over door. S elevation has sashes with
glazing bars, one C18 horizontal sash and 2 C20 casements. Much of the frame is
exposed internally, with stop-chamfered bridging beams and original door and
window openings. C16 wood-burning hearth. C15 and C16 crownpost roofs.
Numerous doors of C17, C18 and early C19. Moated site. RCHM 3.
