Barn. Late C16/early C17. Red brick in Flemish bond, roofed with corrugated
asbestos. 5 bays aligned approx. E-W with midstrey to N. Lean-to open shelter
to NE, roofed with corrugated asbestos. Lean-to open shelter to NW, roofed with
red clay pantiles and corrugated iron. Plain pilasters at corners and at bay
intervals. Blocked high vents at each side of each bay. Both gables timber
framed and weatherboarded. The E end has one high casement. The W end has an
inserted doorway, pitching door over, and casement in gable. Great doors
missing to N and S, N aperture partly blocked with corrugated asbestos. The
walls are 0.61 metre thick at the pilasters, and display English bond on the
inside. Straight tiebeams with pegged branching spur ties to wallplates.
Joggled butt-purlin roof, 2 purlins to each pitch. C20 lean-to roof over
midstrey.
