Outbuilding. c1750, altered C19, Probably by John Carr for William Gossip. Coursed magnesian limestone, Welsh slate roof. One storey, three x one bays; later extension forming link to East Wing is not of special interest. Large quoins, West side facing courtyard to rear of Thorp Arch Hall (q.v.): five blind windows beneath eaves band moulded gable copings on left. Rear; door with deep lintel flanked by casement windows beneath keyed lintels; inserted garage door on left.

Left return: later lean-to beneath pedimented gable with blind Diocletian window in tympanum.

Interior:right end wall removed; four original roof trusses with twin-collared principal rafters. The Diocletian motif is characteristic of James Paine who corresponded with Gossip about the proposed house at Thorp Arch prior to the involvement of John Carr; it is possible that the outbuildings are part of some original scheme suggested by Paine although executed by Carr, Thorp Arch estate papers, Leeds City Archives (particularly Day Book 1749-51 (box 21/item 10)).
