Combination farm buildings including stables and cow houses with haylofts,
barn, granary and dovecote. Late C18 and early C19; altered. Coursed,
squared magnesian limestone; stone slate eaves courses to Welsh slate roof,
part retains completely stone-slated roof. 2-storey, L-shaped range
adjoining rear of left pavilion of Flintmill Grange Farmhouse (q.v.) and
returning to enclose rear yard. Earliest part is a 5-bay barn (now grain
store) set to rear of the farmhouse, it has plinth and blocked central waggon
entrance with quoins and basket arch; to each side are 4 rows of slit vents
and to 1st floor are 3 round pitching holes. Rear has opposed waggon
entrance, similar slit vents and no pitching holes; stone slate roof. On
right of barn a C19 3-storey addition under same roof-line as barn: stable
door on left of slatted casement with unglazed window openings beneath eaves
of stone slate roof. Right gable has round-arched 1st-floor door and gable
oculus. Later bay to left of barn has door and slatting beneath wooden
lintel and slatted casement over. Return range to left has 3:2 openings to
1st floor and is of two builds. External stone steps, to far left, lead to
door in right return of pavilion; 3 ground-floor doorways and 5 slatted
casements on each floor under various window heads.
