ST 78 SE HORTON HORTON HILL (south side)

Country house, now two houses. Circa 1880-1890. Coursed squared rubble with
freestone dressings; plain tiled roof behind coped parapet; ashlar stacks with
cornice. In a Tudor Gothic style. To the right is the main part of the house:
2 storeys and attics in steep coped gables with finials. 3 bays, the left bay
is advanced. Canted bay window to left and square bay window to right, both
with trefoil and quatrefoil parapet and cross windows with pointed heads; single,
2- and 3-light casements with depressed arch heads on first floor. Central
gabled porch, panelled door under cambered head. To the left is a 5 bay wing
with 4 steep gables; five 2-light casement windows.
