Restaurant and flat, former house. C16. Timber framed and plastered with peg
tile roofs. 2 storey main range with gabled crosswing at south end, jettied on
3 sides with part exposed dragon posts. Lower 2 storey block at north, hipped
at end, with low 2 storey lean-to extension on rear. Front of crosswing has
some exposed framing and original jetty bracket. Large C16 rear wall stack with
rebuilt rectangular shaft on main range with arched header inglenook on first
floor. 2 tall stacks on edge of roof of southern crosswing. Windows are C20
casements. Crosswing has plain bargeboards and oak C20 front door. Main range
has heavily moulded bridging and floor joists with 2 chamfer rolls separated by
flat fillets. Roof is housed side purlin with heavy arched windbracing and
principal rafters with thickened tops. The crosswing is later extension of late
C16 with side purlin wind braced roof and halved and bladed scarf joints. Front
first floor room of main range has remnants of large side window opening. RCHM
