Cottage. C18, possibly with C17 core, C19 alterations. Coursed limestone and
gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins. Stone slate and C20 concrete
tile roof with stone gable end stacks and moulded stone copings and kneelers to
southern bay. Two storey cottage of irregular plan with two bay rear section
attached to single bay southern section only by north-west corner. East elevation has
two small pane casements in flush surrounds and flush doorcase with plank door to
south. Set back to north, two glazing bar fixed lights in flush surrounds . In
angle between the two sections another doorcase with plank door. Above to north
two similar windows to those below, except each window has two pane casement. To
south glazing bar fixed light with single pane casement. Attached to west gabled
cottage with inserted doorcase to west and 3-light flush mullion window to east with
C20 leaded lights. Above two 2-light flush mullion windows with leaded lights. Both
have historical association with the Eyam Plague of 1666. See Church Street,
