Pair of cottages. C17 core, refashioned mid C18 with later alterations. Limestone
and gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins. Stone slate roofs.
Stone gable end and side wall stacks. Chamfered stone coping with moulded
kneeler to south pitch of east gable. L-plan, their main fronts set at right
angles, two storeys, No 3 of two bays, No 2 single bay. No 3 to north has
recessed and chamfered 3-light mullion window with C18 leaded lights to each side.
To west inserted C20 glazed door. Above recessed and chamfered opening with
horizontal sliding sash. To east, lean-to with flush doorcase and plank door.
No 2, to west, has flush quoined doorcase with C20 glazed, panelled door to north.
3-light flush mullion window to south. Above similar 2-light window. Over door
bull's eye window in moulded aedicule with four raised keystones. Tiny central
casement. Also listed for historical interest because of association with Eyam
Plague of 1666.
