No 2 Plague Cottage

Cottage. C18, possibly with C17 core. Coursed limestone and gritstone rubble
with gritstone dressings and quoins to west. Stone slate and C20 concrete tile
roof with stone ridge end stack to north and stone coped gable with moulded
kneelers. Gabled two storey cottage of two bays. 3-light flush mullion window
with C20 leaded lights to east and inserted C19 doorcase with plank door to west.
Above, two 2-light flush mullion windows with C20 leaded lights. Attached to east
and rear No 1 Church Avenue (see earlier). Both have historical association with
the Eyam plague of 1666.
