Terrace of 10 houses. This and the adjacent terrace (Nos 1-6,
qv,-ref 9/256) built for naval officers and their families.
1848, designed by Charles Foord. Gault brick; Kent tile roofs.
Like its neighbour, a tripartite arrangement: 2 end blocks of 3
storeys containing 2 houses stand forward of 6 houses of 2
storeys, the centre pair projecting slightly. All houses of 2-
window bays with basement and areas. Identical features
throughout (as to Nos 1-6): 4-pane horned sashes under cambered
brick window arches, with stone sills on brackets; 4-panelled
doors with rectangular overlights; sill and cornice bands;
segmental-headed dormers; spear-headed railings to area. Large
axial stacks. With the exception of the replaced door to No 11
all features survive intact and the terrace is a remarkably
complete example of its date.
