Greet Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Mid C19. Good squared limestone of near ashlar quality,
concrete tile roofs. An L-plan with deep projecting porch in internal
angle, wing to road hipped, range parallel with road mansard with coped
gables, one gable stack mainly brick, above ridge, and a second on large
rectangular stone base, then bricks and stone stack to eaves of hipped
end. Two storey, basement and attic, various windows in Victorian Gothic
but on return face, left, two 3 light casements with ovolo mould, possibly
from C17. Hexagonal bay at right end of mansard block, pointed lights
with mullion and transome. Plank door in pointed arch in porch approached
by seven stone steps, over this a 2 light transome window and diagonally
placed pointed quatre foils. This looks like a Victorian Gothic villa,
but may incorporate some earlier work. Internal not seen.
