Farmhouse, now dwelling, C16 and late C19. Considerable timber frames,
to back gables and within some limestone below fronted gables. hard
red brick to street front, stone slate roofs to coped gables. A palimpsest
house with main block parallel with road and large external stepped
stack to right gable, an extended C19 wing, left, brought forward
to back of pavement and two gabled extensions at back, representing
the original house. To the street, two storeys and attic 2-windowed,
2 or 3-light casement under flat stone lintols and 2-light gabled
dormers; at back, left gable has 3 low lights in timber framing over
large late C20 bow, and in right gable a 2-light casement in gable
over C20 pair of french doors; to the right a large C20 flat-roofed
extension. Main entrance now through extension at left hand end.
Interior: large open bressummer fire at large stack, C19 staircase,
considerable original framing in walls and between rooms at roof level:
roof timbers not visible.
