Farmhouse, now dwelling. C17 and C19. Squared and dressed coursed lime-
stone, stone slate roofs and coped gables. A complex plan comprising
an original farmhouse with very extensive C19 addition towards the street;
result is a parallel range form with the two parts displaced to give a Z-
plan. Generally 2½ storeys plus stone basement. To road is 3-windowed,
one and 2-light in small and large gables, three 2-light at first floor,
3 and 4-light with transomes, and the 4-light with king mullion at ground
floor, all these stone mullioned casements probably of C19 with stopped
drips. Centrally an arched doorway, with C20 plank door and scrolled key-
stone, with C17 portico with Doric columns on plinths and flat architraves
broken forward over columns, some of the work being C19 also. Return wing,
left has 2-light to gable and first floor over two 2-light at ground floor,
all with stopped drips, then the older wing a steeply hipped Cl9 bay 1:3:1
lights, two storeyed,transome at ground floor only. On back is deep projecting
external stack, 3 and 2-light hollow mould mullioned casements under stopped
drips, and under 3-light window a wide plank door with transome light under
stopped drip, and with keystone having a carved head. This side now with
concrete tile. Interior not seen.
