Shops and offices. Mid - late C19 with some later alterations. Rendered brick
with painted stone dressings slate roof, C20 shop fronts to ground floor with
passage to rear between Nos 52 and 53. First floor sill band to 3 square bay
windows with 4 panesashes in moulded surrounds with entablatures and blocking
courses, central window with elaborately decorated cornice. Recessed panels
flanking central window with Ionic plasters beyond. Similar paired pilasters
corners. Continuous moulded entablature - like band, broken by the windows, across
full width of the facade with dosserets over the pilasters Second floor has
similar paired Corinthian plasters to corners and deep plinth-like band. 3 4 pane
sashes in surrounds with engaged Corinthian columns, entablatures and moulded
pediments, central one with decorated segmental pediment. Entablature with
dentilled cornice above, dosserets over the paired plasters. Blocking course.
