House. Late 1830's. Part of a group laid out by John Shepherd, a Howden
joiner. Brick in English garden wall bond, Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 2
first-floor windows, 3 bays. 6-panel door beneath overlight with decorative
glazing bars in doorcase with plain jambs and consoles holding dosserets and
hood. 2 sashes with glazing bars to left, one to right. First floor: 2
sashes with glazing bars to left. Channelled wedge lintels with panelled,
dropped keystones throughout. Roof hipped to right. Ridge stack. 2 sashes
with glazing bars to right end facade balance fenestration of No 66 Hailgate
(qv). Interior: open-string staircase with very slender column-on-vase
balusters and carved tread ends. Plain arch to hallway. Coved cornices in
