House. Early C17, extended late C17, with some C18 and mid-C20 alterations.
Timber-frame with rendered infill, underbuilt in painted rubble, with stone
slate roof. Three framed bays aligned east/west, that to west end added
late C17. Main chimney stack to west gable of original two-bay house with
brick shaft, also a stack at the south-east corner. East (street) front of
two storeys, gabled with underbuilt jetty. Two 2-light casements over a
fixed casement to left, a 2-light casement to right. Main entrance in north
front has a C20 gabled and tiled porch with half-glazed sides. Framing: four
square panels high with straight angle braces. East gable truss has three
struts to the colar with V-struts in the apex and trenched purlins. Interior
has exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams. (RCHM, 3, p 139, no 14).
