House, now divided into five dwellings. Early C17, altered and extended
mid-C19, c1900, c1930 and late C20. Coursed and dressed limestone rubble
with ashlar dressings. Stone tiled roof laid in diminishing courses with
large rear chimney and star-shaped brick shaft, also south end stack with
three square ashlar shafts. Two storeys and attic with dormers. Four
bays; chamfered mullioned windows with leaded casements and hoodmoulds to
window of two main storeys. There are three 4-light windows on the ground
floor, two of which have central king mullions, and four 3-light windows on
the first floor. Above are four gabled-dormers with parapets, gabled finials
and 2-light windows with dripstones. Main entrance to right of the northern
bay has a C20 gabled rubble porch with a square-headed archway and 4-light
windows in the side elevations. The doorway has a 4-centred arched head,
a hoodmould, and a C17 studded door with strap hinges. There is a c1930
addition to the rear of the north end elevation and a large two-storey seven-
bay wing to the rear of the southern two bays of C19 date with later additions.
Interior: the northern bay of the original part retains its C17 panelling and
large fireplace; also there is a through-passage, the doorway opposing the
main entrance door being similarly detailed with a 4-centred arched head and
also having relief decoration in the spandrels.
