11/1 Beauchamp House

II

Farmhouse; early C18. Brick: Flemish bond below windows, slightly
darker heading bond between windows, English bond in porch; tiled
roof. 2-storey, with attics, 'L' plan, later single-storey
extension in angle, 5-window front. Central, 2-storey gabled
porch. Front door bottom panel, top-half glazed, with unusual
side-light, to same pattern, on left only. Elliptical fanlight
with intersecting glazing bars, rubbed brick arch over, cutting
plain string course. 4-pane sash windows to ground floor, rubbed
brick arch, interrupting the bottom course of the string course.
First floor windows normal sashes, boxes only slightly set back;
cambered brick arch over. Semi-circular head with rubbed brick
arch, extending upwards to give 'keystone' to first-floor window in
porch. Plain, gable chimneys, partly projecting from envelope of
building. On left a short, later wing wall, breaking forward
slightly, with elliptically-headed opening, stone springers and
keystone, boarded door. Above a low-pitch gable with stone copings
