II
Farmhouse; mid C17, early C19, with alterations. Pale red Flemish
bond brick; timber-framing, 2 panels high each floor; tiled roof.
'U' plan, front 4 windows wide, 2 storey, with lofts. Gabled
timber-framed cross wing on left of front: brick plinth, one
original timber-framed panel each side of wide later C20 bow
window: weatherboard to bressumer over. First floor, tension
braces rise to tops of wallposts; principal rafters tenoned into
braces. 3-light casement window, weather board over, with single
light in apex, to left. Pitch reduced slightly on right slope to
match main front. Decorative C19 bargeboards. Timber-framing
continues on left return. On right 3-window brick front, with
later blue-brick plinth. In centre single-storey, gabled, timber-
framed porch, mid C19; on blue-brick plinth. Open front: pointed
arch to doorway, iron bar with spear top in side lights, over brick
nogging. 2-light windows in sides; decorative barge boards. Porch
covers 4-panel door with diagonal boarding to panels. Each side 3-
light C20 wooden casement window; above original 3-light wooden
windows with iron opening lights, with original catches and hooks;
narrower blind opening in centre. All windows with slightly
cambered, rubbed brick arches. Cogged eaves. Decorative chimneys
at each end of brick section. Most of right-hand rear wing rebuilt
in late C20.
