Edgbaston B15
No 78
SP 0665 SE 47/10

2.
C1825-30 stucco villa built perhaps slightly before the adjoining No 79.
Two storeys stucco faced brick. Three bay front with one bay extension
containing what was formerly a screen wall coach house, the first floor
a slightly later addition. Plinth; moulded bed to shallow flat eaves of
half hipped slate roof; stucco chimney stack. Plainly revealed glazing
bar sash windows to first floor, centre narrower and blind. Original
right hand ground floor window contained in very shallow round arched
panel. The left hand window replaced C1840-50 by a slight projection with
a canted bay glazing bar sash window, frieze and cornice. This bay window
is contemporary with and linked to the similar addition at No 79. The
central entrance has a surround consisting of a double order of architrave
and archivolt arch with impost blocks, containing archivolt arched fanlight
with marginal glazing over door of 6 fielded panels framed by slender
pilasters in reveals. The extension has segmental arched coach house doors
