Farmhouse, dated 1698 but possibly earlier. Stone plinth, handmade
brick, slate roof with one chimney on the ridge and on at right gable.
Three-bay baffle-entry plan, with rear outshuts to 1st and 3rd bays, later
single storey rubble extension to front of 1st bay. Two storeys and
attic. 1st floor band; double saw-toothed 2nd floor band; 2 tie plates.
2-storey gabled porch at junction of 1st and 2nd bays, with large
rectangular stone lintel lettered in relief G and heavily-studded
I.A,

inner board door; small modern window in blocked original window; 3
small openings in apex of gable. Except ground floor window to 2nd
bay (altered), all windows have splayed brick heads and altered glazing.
Left return wall has a door and window at ground floor, and an attic
window; rear has single-storey outshut to 1st bay, 2-storey outshut to
3rd bay, a blocked 1st floor window and 4 altered windows all with
segmental brick relieving arches (one of these is stairlight).
Interior: back-to-back inglenook fireplaces with moulded bressummers;
ΒΌ-round moulded beams throughout; partitioned 3rd bay has parlour with
cross-corner fireplace; good half-turn staircase with landings, string,
newel posts with ball finials, turned balusters; timber-framed 1st floor
partition walls; roof trusses probably re-used cruck blades.
