Ice house c. 400 metres south-
south-east of Cuerden Hall

Icehouse, probably early C19. Brick, covered by earth mound. Egg-shaped
subterrranean vessel in header bond, c. 11 feet in diameter and 14 feet
high internally; approached by north-facing barrel vaulted tunnel c. 12
feet long and 6 feet high ( in English garden wall bond ). Set in shallow
hillside c. 40 metres from River Lostock. Probably associated with Cuerden
Hall,Cuerden CP (q.v.).
