Pair of weavers' cottages, probably late C18, unusual arrangement as a
row with loomshops in centre. Gable to road. Sandstone rubble, with
coursed sandstone facade and large quoins, slate roof with 2 ridge
chimneys. Elongated rectangular single-pile plan of 4 bays. Two
storeys; 4 doors, one at each end, 2 others in the centre inserted in
parts of loomshop windows, all with plain stone cases; 4 windows on
each floor, those in centre of ground floor formerly 3 square lights
now 2; others at right end have altered glazing; remainder are sashed
with glazing bars. Rear wall has windows only in 2 centre bays: 2
loomshop windows each with 3 square lights, and 2 plain square windows
at 1st floor.
