A clear path through the churchyard to the priests door. This suggests to me that this door was a general entrance into the church. For example: in the C18 when the tower needed rebuilding, the chancel could have been used as the village chapel, and, excepting the sanctuary, used as a schoolroom. (Photo Apr 2009).
