GV II
Country house lodge. Circa 1860s. Coursed limestone with stone dressings. Steeply-pitched clay tile roof with bands of shaped tiles and half-hipped gables with pierced cusped barge boards. Stone axial and lateral stacks with yellow clay pots.
PLAN: Cruciform on plan with entrance porch at west end.
High Victorian Gothic style.
EXTERIOR: 1 storey. North side facing drive has half-hipped gable with pierced cusped barge boards and 3-light window with stepped head under relieving arch, and with roof of main range on right carried down over bay window. West gable end has porch with steep hipped roof, splayed corners with corbels and 4-centred arch doorways to front and left [N] sides; small lancets on right [S] side of porch. South side facing road has lateral stack on left with set-offs and wing on right with half-hipped gable with cusped and pierced barge boards. Similar gable at east end.
INTERIOR not inspected.
Wraxall Lodge is one of a series of Victorian lodges at Tyntesfield.
