Farmhouse. Probably mid-C17, remodelled and extended in the late C19.
Pebbledashed timber frame with red brick nogging; plain tile roof.
2 parallel ranges of one long and one short bay each with gables to
front. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic. Pebbledashed external lateral
stack to right with tiled offsets and pitched-roofed links to attic.
3 windows to first floor and 2 to ground floor; C19 wooden mullioned
and transomed casements with weatherings; central first-floor window
slightly projecting. Central 6-panelled door (lower 2 panels flush
and upper 4 glazed) with rectangular overlight, moulded architrave,
and returned wooden hoodmould; C19 lean-to timber porch. Pebbledashed
and slate roofed C19 addition set back to left with brick ridge stack.
2-light wooden attic casements at rear. Interior: ground-floor front
rooms remodelled in early C18 with cased paired beams and moulded cornices.
C17 dog-leg winder stair to attic. Tie-beam trusses in front gables
with 2 collars and queen struts; walk-through intermediate trusses;
pairs of large purlins with wind braces. Blocked attic window in left-
hand gable, now with herringbone brick infill.
