House, now divided. C16 with mid-to late C19 alterations and additions.
Timber framed with painted brick nogging on painted roughly dressed
sandstone plinth. Partly rebuilt and extended in brick, painted to
represent framing. Plain tile roofs. Framing: hall range with
rectangular panels, 2 from sole plate to wall plate. Eaves raised by
approximately 1/3 Panels height in C19. Cross-wing with large square
panels (3 from sole plate to wall plate) and large curved arched braces.
L-plan. Hall range of 2 framed bays with gabled cross wing to left,
projecting at rear. One storey and attic with cross wing of 2 storeys
and gable-lit attic. Shaped barge boards. Brick ridge stack off-
centre to left, external C19 brick end stack to right and brick ridge
stack to cross wing. Three C19 gabled semi-dormers to right with 2-
light wooden casements. 4-window front; 2- and 3-light wooden and
metal-framed wooden casements. Boarded door between first and second
windows from left and C20 half-glazed door between first and second
windows from right. Small partly-blocked 2-light wooden staircase
window to left of left-hand door. Boarded door with gabled porch in
return of cross wing. Interior not inspected.
