2 storey house in its own grounds, which was originally 2 separate dwellings, C18,
and which now form part of the whole elevation being as wings to an added centre
section, carried out, according to a plaque, in 1825, maybe by Joseph Kaye. Stuccoed.
The 2 cottages 2 storeys one window with hipped slate roofs, originally faced east
and west, now face south and form the main elevation. Shutters to all windows.
Sashes with chain chords and glazing bars with margin lights. Central section
has ground floor French windows, balcony over, and a splayed bay to 1st floor.
Timber canopy over. Ornamental pierced parapet wall between the hipped roofs of
the original cottages. Eaves have double dentil design. Leaded ridges and hips.
Entrance door to west side, side door to east with semi-elliptical head. Delicate
columned trellis attached. Both Holman Hunt and Gabriel Rossetti are reputed to
have lived here.
