Named after a piece of land but said to have been an inn called the "Bird
on the Ball".
Early C19 remodelling of older house. 2 storeys, painted stucco on gault
brick plinth. Flat eaves on pairs of brackets, hipped slate roof, symmetrical
gault brick slate hung chimneys. A 3 bay front with 4-pane sash windows.
6-panel central door with raised and fielded panels, painted elliptical
radiating fanlight, and reeded door surround with corner roundels and small
modillions. Low single storey extension to right with hipped slate roof.
Rendered, partly brick and flint cob road wall to Queen Street, slate capped.
