History

Early C19 coach-house to Serjeants Inn, the inn said to date from 1650 (O.S. map), but more probably mid C18, extended in C19.

Exterior

Whitewashed rubble stone with close-eaved slate roof. Single-storey, with S gable end elliptical-arched coach-entry. Unpainted sandstone voussoirs, ledged doors and iron strap hinges. A narrow door at left end of W side wall.

Reasons for Listing

Group value with the Serjeants Inn, a large rural coaching inn of historical importance.
