The kiln bank was probably established c1820-30, but was out of use by 1859. Formerly comprised 5 kilns, of which only 2 remain.
The wide brick segmental arched openings of the drawing-hole vault are visible in a turf-covered bank, and the depressions of the charging holes can still be seen at the top of the bank.
An incomplete kiln bank, of some interest for its association with the canal, as for its short period of use. The surviving kilns represent good examples of a comparatively late design of kiln.
