Exterior

A three-storey outbuilding of the late C18 or early C19. Local stone and slate roof. Three storeys, one bay, gable end to road, comprising two arched open fronted trap houses at road level, with stables on the first floor accessed from the steep driveway at the rear, originally with a 6-panelled 'Welsh Cross' door, and the ostler's lodging on the top floor. The stable floor has blank arched recesses on the gable elevation, and a large round headed opening to the lodging. Two C20 timber windows on the side elevation.

Said to be originally intended for the accommodation of guests for the annex to Pen-y-lan.
