House of the early C19, roughly coursed rubble with slate roof. Three storeys, 3 bays, with a 2-storey addition to the rear.
Central part-glazed door. Sixteen paned sashes (renewed) but 8-paned to the second floor under boxed eaves. Arch of culvert in end gable.
Single storey extension to the right added after 1870, when the Griffiths family opened a butcher's shop, Later a post office. Blocked door and paned shop window.
Included as dwelling illlustrative of the substantial rebuilding in Meifod in the early C19, and of group value in the centre of the village.
