The later 19th century Eglinton Terrace (see separate list description) was developed by following the line of buildings in Cassilis Street to the centre of the Citadel enclosure (Dodd, pp348, 359). In the short terrace of Nos 6-14 (Even Nos), Nos 8 and 10, along with 6 and 6A, followed the earlier building pattern of Nos 12 and 14, the only two houses present on the Ordnance Survey map, 1858.
