Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay house forming part of terrace. Sandstone rubble. Eaves course; cornice; blocking course; strip quoin to right only. Painted margins to openings.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: block-pedimented, corniced, pilastered doorpiece; timber door; 3-light letterbox fanlight; single window aligned above at 1st floor; flanking single windows at ground and 1st floors.

4-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stone skews; coped stacks; circular cans to right only.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

Statement of Interest

Nos 1-29 (Inclusive Nos, no No 13 and 30, 32 and 54 Fullarton Street) forms B Group. The N side of Barns Street formed Ayr's first regular terrace development (Dodd, p358).
