Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular plan house, squared and snecked sandstone, part rubble, part tooled finish, painted, plain margins, quoin strips.

NW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: central doorway, bays flanking with windows at ground and 1st floor, those at 1st floor slightly towards centre.

NE ELEVATION: attached to No 56.

SW ELEVATION: now attached to No 60 (see Notes).

12-pane timber windows at ground, modern at 1st floor grey/green slates, stone skew to SW, rendered gablehead stack to SW, harled ridge stack on party wall with No 56.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

Statement of Interest

Adjoining property to right, No 60 is a recent building in appropriate vernacular style creating a terrace. Nos 56 and 58 probably an older pair than the attached No 54. Part of Harbour Street B Group, Nos 40-58.
