Circa 1800: Thomsonesque classical 3-storey and attic
3-bay commercial premises. Ashlar. Modern shops to ground
floor. Giant Tuscan pilasters rise through 1st and 2nd
floors which both have outer bipartite and central sash
windows, all with surrounds of incised "Greek" ornament
raised in pediment shapes. Also continous cill courses
to both floors with incised ornament below both. 3 dormers
rise from eaves cornice and break through a balustrade
outer pair bipartite all with incised ornament and
pedimented. Slate roof with corniced stacks.
North side High St redeveloped 1880-6
