Description

Later 19th century. Ashlar, 2 pedestrian gates with square
banded piers. Roll moulded reveals with shouldered lintels.
Cornice over and globe finials to piers. Similar but
shorter piers connected by quadrant wall to entrances.
Straight walls to right and left. Ornate cast-iron gates
to pedestrian entrances and to carriage entrance between,
and railings to walls for short distance either side.

Statement of Interest

Former entrance to Barshaw House which has an early 18th

century core and extension later 19th century by John

Hutchinson.
