Thomas Telford, 1806-9. Canal aqueduct, built over lane later converted to railway use, closed 1881. Stugged grey sandstone ashlar in concave form, single arch with rubble sides, channelled voussoirs and vermiculated keystone, plain ashlar course above as base course to terraced wallhead coped with ashlar. Terminal pier with block coping, and outer splay. No parapet above ground.
The aqueduct lies to the NE of Blackhall Railway Viaduct (listed separately) with which it is related, though the railway was later realigned under a new bridge adjoined to former aqueduct to SE. Property of Railtrack (1997).
