Description

Late 18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay L-plan tenement on corner site with attic and shop at ground. Harled with painted margins and quoin strip.

HIGH STREET ELEVATION: shop front spanning ground floor with fascia and cornice; 3 windows at 1st floor slightly irregularly spaced; large wallhead dormer with 2 widely spaced windows and curvilinear gablehead with stack.

KIRKGATE: broad gable to right, largely blank with window to each floor to left and broad gablehead stack; door and window and 1st floor window in bay projecting to rear at outer left.

REAR ELEVATION: broad gable to right.

Timber sash and case windows to front, 6-pane casements to side and rear. Graded grey slates; raised skews. Narrow swept slate-hung dormer to rear; cast-iron rooflight to front. Gablehead stacks; red and cream terracotta cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.
