Description

Circa 1900. 2-storey and attic 4-bay double villa with rear service wings. Pink sandstone, ashlar front, squared and snecked stugged rubble to rear and sides. Base course; chamfered reveals; string course above ground floor to principal elevations; overhanging eaves with plain bargeboards and exposed rafters.

NW (FRONT) ELEVATION: elevations mirrored about centre; round-arched doorways with rounded reveals and linked corbelled open swan-neck pediments to centre bays, panelled doors and plate glass fanlights; windows above; later rectangular dormer. Outer bays with 2-storey canted windows swept to square in gableheads with diamond panels.

NE (BINNIE STREET) ELEVATION: gabled with kingpost to bargeboards; canted bipartite window at ground floor, windows above, round-arched to gablehead.

SW ELEVATION: gabled with kingpost to bargeboards; windows to centre.

SE (REAR) ELEVATION: lower 2-storey single bay service wings to each house with long mono-pitched roofs. Timber sash and case windows, mostly plate glass glazing, some modern replacement windows. Slate roof; gablehead stack to SW.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

Low stepped rubble boundary wall with saddleback coping raised to Binnie Street with semicircular coping.
