Burnet Boston and Carruthers, 1902-3. Large villa with
renaissance details. Mainly 2 storeys with attics.
Stugged red ashlar, polished dressings, mullioned and
transomed windows, plate-glass glazing, arched entrance
on W flank with decorative sculpture at imposts, low (?
billiards room) range beyond; S front to street has
large mullioned and transomed windows central, attic
dormer over, circular angle turret on left gable; to
right, wall-head attic window with flanking shafts,
pediment over, balustrade extends to angle. Tall stacks,
green slate roofs. Fire escape on E flank. Low boundary
wall to street with tall thin piers, driveway gatepiers
quatrefoil section, pyramidal caps on balls, brass name
plates.
