Description

J MacKellar, 1902. Large asymmetrical villa of 1, 2 and 3 storeys; unusual composition, with dummy tower house at S with corbelled parapets enclosing gabled timber attic storey; gabled range at N, low linking range, castellated deep projecting and bow-ended low porch extends W from latter; ingle-neuk gable at E end of N flank. Stugged and snecked ashlar, polished dressings, red-tile roofs; tall stacks, paired polygonal flues at "tower". Original interior ornament survives in good condition; timber gallery over entrance hall; leaded glass windows; ceiling plasterwork; timberwork and chimney pieces.

Boundary walls snecked ashlar, gateway at junction of Sherbrooke and Springkell Avenues, corniced square gatepiers with pyramidal caps, depressed-arched flanking pedestrian gates. Detached outbuilding to E part of original composition, now used as domestic flat.
