Description

1875. Square-plan 2-storey villa with good interior; 3
bays, full-height canted bay right, consoled doorpiece,
snecked rubble; interior work of circa 1898 at former
dining room (now sitting room) panelled with slim-
pilaster divisions: rich relief designs between
pilasters and at door, very high quality metal craft
work at door and shutter hinges, door furniture, bell
pulls etc; former library (now dining room) is earlier
and coarser, elliptically-arched chimney piece with
grotesque head baluster pilasters. Ionic-columned
treatment at overmantel and bookcases, glazed with
curvilinear angles.
