Description

Mid 19th century. Large asymmetrical villa with classical
details. 2 storeys, attic and basement. Finely stugged ashlar
with smooth rusticated quoins and polished dressings. All
windows sashes with pilastered reveals and plate glass
glazing.
Irregular stepped elevation to E. To left, single storey
projecting painted ashlar pilastered porch with mutule
cornice and pierced parapet in re-entrant angle. Pilastered
round-headed doorway with glazed fanlight, double-leaf
panelled doors; large leaded stained glass window to porch.
To right advanced bay with balustraded canted window at
ground, tripartite window above.
S elevation; advanced bay to right with square projecting
windows rising from basement with bracketted balcony at 1st.
Otherwise windows mainly single light. Band course at 1st
floor cills and eaves. Deeply overhanging timber bracketted
eaves. Piended slate roof, corniced axial and wallhead
stacks, tall square cans.
To N lower 2-storey service wing with 3 single windows. W
elevation stugged ashlar with timber brackets supporting
canted timber oriel at 1st floor left.
Coped droved ashlar boundary wall with pair of tall, square
ashlar corniced gatepiers.
