Circa 1858. Double villa, converted 20th century to 3 flats
with additional entrance bay to E. 2 storeys, attics and
basement stugged ashlar with polished margins and dressings, stonecleaned.
Outer bays shallow advanced with smooth rusticated quoin to
ground and incised pilasters clasping angle at 1st
full-height canted bay windows rise from basement; pilaster
mullions at ground, round headed lights at 1st divided by
engaged columns with 'rusticated' archivolts. Inner bays: to
right, steps oversailing basement to pilastered consoled and
corniced doorpiece and double leaf panelled doors.
To left, similarly detailed bipartite window. At 1st floor
round headed bipartites detailed as in outer bays.
Sash windows, plate glass glazing, except at ground floor
which has some small pane glazing. Deeply overhanging timber
modillion eaves. Recessed bay to W with door to No 6. At
left, steps oversailing basement to pilastered doorpiece with
mutule cornice, arched doorway. Advanced intrusive bay in
re-entrant angle.
W flank stugged coursed ashlar.
Extension to E. (1910) steps oversailing basement to 3-bay
2-storey block; Projecting Roman Doric porch with mutule
cornice and blocking course. Round-arched pilastered
doorpiece with double-leaf panelled doors. Flanking porch, 2
small leaded lights with recessed reveals and bracketted
cills. Above these, 2 round-arched lights, detailed as above.
E flank stugged ashlar or rendered.
Rear elevation stugged ashlar. Full height projecting outer
bays, piended slate roofs. No 6 with canted window to rear.
Corniced axial stacks; decorative square cans.
2 pairs of corniced square painted ashlar gatepiers.
