Edward Calvert, 1880. 5-storey and basement with 5th storey as mansard attic, 5-bay tenement with baronial details, forming part of terrace. Squared and snecked pink sandstone with contrasting polished ashlar dressings. String course at 1st floor; corbel table at 4th floor; crowstepped gables; stop-chamfered reveals.
N ENTRANCE elevation: architraved doorways with recessed polished granite colonnettes and foliate capitals in 2nd and 4th bays; single windows flanking doorways to right and left respectively; deep-set panelled doors; plate glass fanlights. Single windows above in 2nd bay; dormerhead at 4th floor adjoining truncated wallhead stack. Bipartite windows above in 4th bay; 4th floor dormerhead linked to wallhead stack. Simpler roll-moulded doorway with panelled door and plate glass fanlight in 3rd (central) bay; bipartite windows above; crowstepped dormerhead at 4th floor linked to wallhead stack. Relieving arches to ground floor openings in 2nd,3rd and 4th bays. Advanced gabled bays to outer left and right with bipartite windows and single lights to returns; cornices above ground and 1st floors; dividing string course above 2nd floor; bracketted cornice above 3rd floor; tripartite windows at 4th floor. Ciphered panel set above 2nd floor between 3rd and 4th bays. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; coped wallhead stack, partly rendered; coped mutual stacks; stone finials; beak skewputts.
INTERIORS: not seen 1991.
RAILINGS: decorative cast-iron railings to basement and steps up to entrances.
